Each technique needs (as any skill) some practice to master it. Then, you can find the way to apply it. These are 2 different things. It is different learning to drive a car, than driving a trip. One thing is building your tools, another thing is to use them.
Don't think that you master a technique before at least 10 sessions of it. Maybe more. Imagine that it is like riding a bike for the first time, be patient, don't judge the technique just because you don'T master it yet.
Each technique makes you conscious of something, to lift smoothly your awareness. Be sure to make the technique yours. It is good to learn how others do, specially when they are experts, but remember that your instinct has to be over any other factor in your learning. You will misunderstand your instinct sometimes, but it is the only way to learn to "read" yourself, in order to take decisions on your evolution.
No one can tell you how you should evolve. Your experience and your feelings, are always above any external opinion.
When you already know the techniques, it is time to find the way to use them as tools to enhance your evolution. Taking decisions about how long to practice, when or which frequency it is more important than the technique itself.
Too much practice, or too less, are both a mistake that can lead you to the wrong conclusion of "this technique doesn't works for me". It is a skill based in emotion-awareness and a lot of self knowledge. No one can tell you how much or when to practice. That is just a suggestion, because in the end you have to become a light for yourself in your spiritual journey.
